Tunning arrived in the U.S. around 18 75, 2 years after his</p></p><p><p>brother John Bernard. In 1879, in Delaware County, IA, both John and</p></p><p><p>Bernard petitioned for citizenship. On September 24, 1881, th ey received</p></p><p><p>their naturalization paper in Carroll County, IA.</p></p><p><p>John Barnard and John F. had settled in the Roselle area after movng to</p></p><p><p>the Carroll area. According to the Roselle history book, when the town</p></p><p><p>was first formed, the fo unders advertised their new settlement up arond</p></p><p>the Dubuque area, as a way to bring in new settlers.</p>
