At Rochester;
Rites Tuesday
Peter C. Bauer died Saturday evening in St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn. He suffered a heart attack about four weeks ago and was taken to the Lutheran hospital in Fort Dodge. On June 3 he had a stroke and he was taken to Rochester a few days ago.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning in Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Fr. H. B. Karhoff was celebrant of the requiem Mass and Rev. Fr. Leo McEvoy of Fort Dodge and Rev. Fr. J. Koenig were in the sanctuary. Pallbearers were: Ray-Bash, George Point, Howard Luft, Roy Boysen, Milton Point, and John Eike. Military rites were in charge of Liberty Post No. 18, The American Legion. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Peter Bauer was born at Arthur, Iowa, August 8, 1897, the son of Jacob and Sophia Thies Bauer. He grew to manhood in that vicinity. On Dec. 30, 1921 he was united in marriage with Miss Fern Robson at Sioux City. He farmed all of his life except during World War I when he served in the coast artillery corps. He was a member of the American Legion. Following his marriage he farmed in the vicinities of Auburn, Scranton, Coon Rapids and in 1938 they mov- ed to their present home in Sherman township. Mr. and Mrs. Bauer became the parents of seven children, two daughters and five sons. They are: Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) DeMers of Elk Point, S. D.; Garth of Rolfe; Mrs. Walter (Beverly) Brammer of Sioux City; Bruce, Boyd, Dallas and Kendall of Pocahontas.
He is survived by his wife and children, six grandchildren and three brothers, John of Arthur, Jake of Emmetsburg, Nicholas of Odebolt, and one sister, Mary Bauer of St. Paul, Minn.

Yender and Mrs. Norb Pudenz of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wampler, and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hawley and Lorraine of Scranton; Frank Roth of Lake View; Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene DeMers of Elk Point, S.
